About us

We are a not-for-profit, community based centre managed by a parent committee. We provide the highest quality care and education for children aged from six weeks to five years of age.

Our well appointed, home-like premises offer a warm, safe and secure environment and include security-coded entrance, air-conditioning, large open rooms and excellent resources.

Latest centre news is always available on the home page.

History

Nought to Five Early Childhood Centre, previously known as Eden Park Child Care Centre, was established in 1977 as the first purpose built, work-based child care centre in Sydney. We relocated in August 1998 from the Eden Park Estate to our present location.

Centre Operation

Our hours of operation are from 7.15am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

Our centre is open for 50 weeks with an approximate two week closure during the Christmas Period (fees are not payable for the closure period). We are closed on Public Holidays.

Our current number of allocated places for each age group are:

  • 0 - 2 years: 15 places
  • 2 - 3 years: 18 places
  • 3 - 5 years: 30 places
Our centre operates with above standard ratios with all age groups:
  • 0 - 2 years: 1 to 3 (DOCS requirement 1 to 5)
  • 2 - 3 years: 1 to 6 (DOCS requirement 1 to 8)
  • 3 - 5 years: 1 to 7 (DOCS requirement 1 to 10)

We are fully licenced by the NSW Department of Community Services and are subject to continued monitoring and licencing inspections. We are committed to the Accreditation process and recently received the maximum accreditation certificate.

Fees

The Management Committee sets the daily fee for children attending the centre and this is reviewed annually at the end of each financial year. This fee is charged for the place, not for the time your child occupies the place and it includes all meals.

Fees are currently:

  • Baby room: $82 per day
  • Toddler room: $80 per day
  • Pre-school room: $79 per day

Your family may be eligible to receive the Child Care Benefit either through a weekly reduction of fees or as a lump sum claim at the end of the financial year. You will need to apply to the Family Assistance Office to receive a reference number and / or a percentage.
